Role:

The Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Specialist will be responsible for providing a clinically-based review of inpatient medical records to evaluate the documentation and utilization of acute care services. This Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist will also play a significant role in obtaining accurate and compliant reimbursement for acute care services.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years clinical or inpatient coding experience in an acute care setting required; 5 years experience strongly preferred.
Familiarity with ICD-9 or ICD-10 and Cerner coding software desired.
Knowledge of care delivery documentation systems and related medical record documents.

Minimum Licensure and Certification:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, AHIMA accredited school, international medical school
Must possess a current RN or LPN license or an RHIA, RHIT, or CCS credential
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
