General Description / Purpose:
Further market adoption of COC solutions and technology in carrier transport, switching, and storage applications through cross-industry collaboration, deep customer engagement, value prop creation, and solution selection. Advance Cornings position in Carrier Switch Center (CSC) applications through the identification and participation in market and technology trends, enabling the evolution of our ISP portfolio.
Position can be based in the following locations: Hickory, NC (preferred location) or Keller, TX
Grow the CSC business through identifying opportunities created in market and technology trends, creating the vision for application growth, and operationalizing that vision through value prop development, solution identification, the support of product and solution development, and the enablement of consultative solution selling.
Ensure COC commercial success in all switching and storage inside plant (ISP) applications by driving the adoption of Corning solutions, demonstrating internal and external thought leadership, and by providing consultative and technical support throughout the selling process.
Own the 0 5 year ISP event/trend, problem/solution roadmaps for Carrier networks, Americas.
Collaborate with peers across regions and in the Access & Premises Market Development functions to anticipate cross-network impacts of major technological events and trends and how they impact carrier customers and Corning solutions.
Collaborate with the Carrier Network Architect and with Market Development ISP and OSP peers to generate the network-wide, global roadmap and further support PLM and Technology in the transfer of that material into product and technology/capability roadmaps.
Raise Corning personnel level of CSC solutions and system knowledge through training sessions, workshops, and webinars. Develop deep customer technical relationships through customer technology workshops, visits to Corning technology centers and joint technology projects.
Collaborate with PLM, Technology and other regional experts to evaluate, modify and prioritize products to meet customer and regional requirements
Required Skills:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in the Telecommunications industry
Ability to align and motivate colleagues outside of a formal reporting structure
Understanding of the competitive environment impacting the Carrier ISP (Internet Service Provider)
Central Office, Head End, Data Center knowledge
Skilled at customer engagement
Familiarity with solution development coupled with a consultative customer engagement
Value proposition development and delivery to the customer
Familiarity with physical infrastructure in communications networks
Required Education:
BS in Engineering
Desired Skills
Familiarity with VOC best practices
MBA a plus
