Reviews medical records, codes patients charges, updates late charges and processes in a timely manner, and assists various practice staff and physicians. Position responsibilities include working collection accounts in a timely manner, identifying and correcting billing errors on patients' accounts as well as completing patient and insurance refunds.Reviews physician documentation and performs audits to determine accuracy, inputting information into coding software, preparing reports, binders, and educational resources based on the audit results that follow all government and local rules and regulations. Provide training to physicians and staff to improve coding outcomes. Reports overall performance of offices audited on a quarterly basis.HS Diploma or GED. Minimum of two years of billing experience required, internal medicine or family practice experience strongly preferred. Must have functional knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology. Prior experience coding with ICD-9-CMdiagnosis and procedure codes for outpatient and surgical records and abstracting medical records.Knowledge of ICD-9-CM Official Guidelines, CPT Coding Guidelines, HIPPA Compliance, and Correct Coding Initiative; resourceful in the use of coding reference material. Demonstrated communication, collaboration and customer service skills. Ability and desire to take initiative to solve problems and recommend office process improvement.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
