General Description / Purpose:
Further enhance Corning credibility and leadership in Carrier optical communications networks and interoperability with wireless and copper networks and operations.
Collaborate with system vendor and Carrier customer engineers to identify and develop new solutions for converged networks.
Responsibilities:
Global subject matter expert in carrier network technologies (optical transmission, photonic technologies, VDSL2, Vectoring, G.Fast, HFC, DOCSIS, RF transmission, ODAS, LTE, satellite, G/GEPON, WDM PON, DWDM technologies).
Engages directly with Carrier and system vendor engineers to understand technology roadmaps, architectures, network strategies, advantages and limitations of each portion of the network.
Match customer requirements with Corning solutions and identify Corning technology capabilities in optical/wireless/copper convergence to apply against customer problems. Together with system vendors and carrier customers identify long term technology roadmap to align Corning Carrier Networks technology focus.
Raise Corning personnel level of solutions and system knowledge through training sessions, workshops, webinars. Develop deep customer technical relationships through customer technology workshops, visits to Corning technology centers and joint technology projects.
Collaborates with PLM, Technology and other regional experts to evaluate, modify and prioritize products to meet customer and regional requirements.
Maintain Corning Carrier technology roadmap to include technology event maps, communication system requirements, technology trends (access, metro, long haul) and identify commercial, PLM and technology capability gaps.
Required Skills:
Deep and broad technical knowledge on Carrier networks, optical communications, photonic technologies, FTTH, FTTx, xDSL, RF transmission, wireless technologies and the ability to collaborate with Carrier engineers and system vendors
Ability to work across functional teams in a matrix environment
Qualified candidates will have work experience in optical engineering at a system vendor, Carrier, Engineering firm or communications gear supplier.
Must possess an in-depth understanding of HFC networks to be able to engage with CATV operators and CATV system vendors
10+ years of experience in the Telecommunications industry
Required Education:
BS in Engineering (preference in Optical or Electrical Engineering)
MS in Engineering or equivalent experience is strongly preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
