Job Description Previous employment should include Maintenance manager, Supervisor/Team Lead, Quality Manager, and or Process Technician.
Problem solver who has electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical skills.
PLC programming and troubleshooting is a plus.
Must be able to order parts, inventory parts and supplies to ensure all machines are working at optimal levels.
Overall responsible for supervision and development of Maintenance Dept personnel.
Oversees daily job assignment to maintenance personnel.
Accesses the level of repair needed for given projects and assigns as needed for completion.
Assists in tooling repair, modifications, and any adjustments needed for tooling discrepancies.
Must be a subject matter expert using tools and measuring equipment.
Reports directly to the Plant Manager to ensure all basis for the entire plant and facility are covered.
Job Duties Maintain Equipment and Facility - Monitors and maintains plant equipment and machinery to ensure that it is running as it should be.
Overall responsible for repairing and or leading maintenance to repair equipment.
Overall responsible for the maintenance of all facility grounds and building.
Expected to set the standard with the dept to ensure preventative and corrective maintenance is conducted safely and on-schedule.
Manages the planned maintenance program to ensure equipment will be running at optimal levels.
Reports downtime, tooling changes and preventive maintenance weekly.
Safety - Ensures the maintenance dept is trained for safe operations and follows the safety and health programs.
Organizes and ensures safe practices for all confined spaces.
Ensures the availability of rescue equipment in accordance with local laws.
Identifies any possible fire hazards and ensures all fire prevention and suppression supplies and systems are maintained to standards.
Ensures electrical safety practices are followed and limits access to hazardous electrical systems to trained personnel only.
Maintains lockout/tagout program and ensures availability of locks/tags.
Ensures that operation is compliant with safety regulations.
Trains Plant Personnel - Assists Plant Manager in training of plant personnel in safe and efficient operation of equipment.
Review Project Plans - Reviews project plans with other members of management to ensure that projects are completed on time and in budget.
Provides advice and guidance for any necessary changes.
Ensure the Facility Complies with Regulations Responsible for ensuring the facility is compliant with the relevant regulations and that regular check-ups are carried out to verify that machinery and processes are safe.
Develop Operational Plans - Assist with developing operational plans for renovation or construction, machine upgrades or additions, and machine installation.
Scheduling - Manages the maintenance dept work schedule to provide support to production for troubleshooting, repairs and changeovers.
Modifies schedules as needed to cover for PTO and unscheduled absences.
Ensures on-call support is available for any operating hours where maintenance staff is not scheduled.
Participates in the on-call schedule.
Works with production to ensure priorities are met.
Skills and Qualifications A team player with strong mechanical abilities and excellent diagnostic skills.
Mechanical and Electrical skills - Works with all machinery and any robotics used in the manufacturing process to check that they are working to peak efficiency and maximum safety.
Mechanical skills are a must.
Dexterity - Maintenance Managers work with tools and machinery daily, so dexterity is vital to ensuring tasks are carried out safely and efficiently.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
and stand for extended periods of time.
Problem-solving skills - as mechanical issues arise, maintenance managers need to identify ways to resolve them as quickly as possible, so problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are required.
Attention to detail - a key part of this job is to spot any problems with machinery and to identify processes that can be improved to benefit the organization and the safety of the team, so the Maintenance Manager should be detail-oriented.
Teamwork - Maintenance Managers work closely with other members of the team, so it is important that they have interpersonal skills and the ability to remain professional at all times.
Leadership- Must have the ability to mentor and train personnel and be the subject matter expert.
